Communication Coming

Club chat that keeps the
right people in the loop.

Chat, posts and notifications built for committees — with safeguarding baked in, so the right people see the right things and no child's contact details ever end up in a group chat. We're building this now.

The vision

Club comms that aren't
a free-for-all WhatsApp

Most clubs run on a tangle of group chats where everyone's number is visible to everyone, messages get lost, and there's no record of who agreed what. We're building a calmer place to talk — with the audience controlled by role, and safeguarding designed in from the start.

Already in place

The foundation is live today

Communication builds on what Pavilion already does. The committee structure, the people and the permissions are here now — chat and posts are the next layer on top.

Committee invites Live

Invite your chair, treasurer, secretary and coaches by magic-link — no passwords, no faff. Everyone lands in the right club with the right access. This is the address book that Communication will talk to.

Roles & permissions Live

Every member already has a role, and roles already decide what they can see and do. Communication simply uses those same roles to decide who can read a channel and who a post reaches.

Designed in, not bolted on

Safeguarding is the
whole point

In grassroots sport, comms and safeguarding are the same problem. A child's phone number in an open group chat is a risk nobody chose — it just happened, because WhatsApp was the only tool to hand. We're building the opposite of that.

  • Adults message juniors through the club, with parents looped in — never one-to-one in private.
  • Contact details stay inside Pavilion, visible only to the people who genuinely need them.
  • Every message has a clear audience and a record, so the club can show it did the right thing.

A promise, while it's still being built

We won't ship Communication until safeguarding is right. It's the part we care about most, and it's why we're taking the time to build it properly rather than bolting a chat box onto the dashboard.

If your club has a welfare officer with views on what good looks like, we'd genuinely like to hear them — that feedback is shaping the design now.

On the roadmap

How we're building it

No dates we can't keep. Here's the honest order of work — each layer built on the live foundation that's already running a real club every weekend.

1

Committee channels

A private, role-gated space for the people running the club — the first piece, building straight on top of today's invites and permissions.

2

Posts & audiences

Send a notice to a team, an age group or the whole club, with the audience picked by role and contact details kept private.

3

Safeguarded messaging

Parent-looped junior comms and welfare-officer controls — the layer we'll take the most care over before anything goes live.
